Looking forward to seeing Doc tomorrow night in Rolla. He is the reason I have been playing the trumpet all my adult life. He got me in trouble with my dad, though, because I always wanted a silver trumpet and my old man refused to buy one for me. I threw a fit and got my butt kicked. As an adult I got that silver horn.

After enjoying the Carson special on PBS I went on-line and found all the clips on YouTube featuring Doc — on the Tonight Show, other shows, over the years, and it was just a delight to spend time with him. “MacArthur Park” knocks me out…what a talent, wishing Doc all the best!
